{"id":2879,"date":"2019-01-14T02:59:30","date_gmt":"2019-01-14T01:59:30","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/spazio-news.it\/?p=2879"},"modified":"2019-01-13T18:09:27","modified_gmt":"2019-01-13T17:09:27","slug":"indra-tests-its-targus-aircrafts-critical-systems","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/spazio-news.it\/?p=2879","title":{"rendered":"INDRA TESTS ITS TARGUS AIRCRAFT\u2019S CRITICAL SYSTEMS"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indracompany.com\/\">Indra<\/a>, one of the leading global technology and consulting companies, and its partner Gaerum have just reached a key milestone in the <strong>development of the optionally manned Targus aircraft<\/strong>: the start of <strong>simulated flight tests<\/strong> to validate the <strong>design<\/strong> of the <strong>aircraft&#8217;s critical systems<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Specifically, they have begun <strong>studying<\/strong> the <strong>flight control<\/strong>, <strong>navigation<\/strong> and <strong>mission systems<\/strong> at the <strong>CIAR &#8211; Rozas\u2019 Center for Research and Experimentation<\/strong> in Castro de Rei (Lugo). All of them are components that play a fundamental role for the safety and operability of the aircraft.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Indra<\/strong> uses an <strong>advanced simulation<\/strong> methodology known as Software-In-the-Loop\/ Hardware-In-the-Loop that makes aircraft systems \u201cbelieve\u201d that they are actually in the air.<\/p>\n<p>Engineers test the electronic systems\u2019 behavior in an environment set up to be 100% realistic. This is thanks to the fact that the data that feeds these components have been collected in real flights and perfectly replicate the situations they will face when they operate in a real environment.<\/p>\n<p>In this way, the results of the numerical simulations previously performed in the laboratory by the <strong>Indra<\/strong> and <strong>Gaerum<\/strong> team are fine-tuned.<\/p>\n<p>Design decisions are validated before moving on to the actual flight test phase, which reduces costs and minimizes risks associated with development and experimentation.<\/p>\n<p>Once the correlation between the behavior of the system in the simulator and in the air is confirmed with a flight test, all these simulation hours will be regarded as real flight hours.<\/p>\n<p>The deadlines for obtaining authorities\u2019 flight certification are expedited in this way;
