Holmes<\/a>, Commander, Air Combat Command, <strong>Joint Base Langley-Eustis<\/strong>, <strong>Virginia<\/strong> described the <strong>HH-60W<\/strong> <strong>helicopter<\/strong> as critical took for the warfighter.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cI want to say thanks to everyone from Sikorsky for your dedication to your craft, for consistently living up to your mission statement of pioneering flight solutions that bring people home everywhere every time. And that partnership is incredibly valuable to us and the guys on the ground<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Gen. Holmes<\/strong> said at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.spazio-news.it\/\">Spazio-News Magazine<\/a> -. <em>We\u2019re proud to work with you to deliver the most intuitive, precise, technologically advanced systems to our airmen.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Other dignitaries attending the event included <a href=\"https:\/\/www.defense.gov\/\">Dr. Will Roper<strong>, <\/strong>Assistant Secretary of the Air Force for Acquisition, Technology and Logistic<strong>s<\/strong><\/a> and Rep. Brian Mast (R-FL) from Florida\u2019s <strong>18<sup>th<\/sup> District<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The achievement of the <a href=\"https:\/\/news.lockheedmartin.com\/2019-09-24-Sikorsky-Combat-Rescue-Helicopter-Approved-to-Enter-Production#assets_all\">Milestone C production decision on Sept. 24<\/a> launched the <strong>contract award<\/strong> known as <strong>Low Rate Initial Production<\/strong> for <strong>Sikorsky<\/strong> to build <strong>10 CRH helicopters<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.airforce.com\/\">U.S. Air Force<\/a> program of record calls for <strong>113 helicopters<\/strong> to replace the <strong>HH-60G PAVE HAWK\u2122<\/strong>, which perform <strong>critical combat<\/strong> <strong>search and rescue<\/strong> and <strong>personnel recovery<\/strong> operations for all <strong>U.S. military services<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cThe Combat Rescue Helicopter is the new era in Air Force aviation and a pivotal milestone that ties to our company\u2019s legacy of bringing people home<\/em> &#8211; said <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/\">Sikorsky President Dan Schultz<\/a> -. <em>Sikorsky employees and our nationwide supply chain are ready to begin producing, delivering and supporting this all-new aircraft for the warfighter.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lockheedmartin.com\/en-us\/products\/sikorsky-hh-60w-combat-rescue-helicopter.html\">HH-60W Combat Rescue Helicopter<\/a> is significantly more capable and reliable than its predecessor, the <strong>HH-60G<\/strong>.The aircraft hosts a <strong>new fuel system<\/strong> that nearly doubles the capacity of the internal tank on a <strong>UH-60M BLACK HAWK<\/strong>, giving the <strong>Air Force<\/strong> crew <strong>extended range<\/strong> and <strong>more capability to rescue <\/strong>those injured in the <strong>battle space<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cWe send in brave men and women who are going to find a way to get the job done<\/em> &#8211; <strong>Dr. Roper<\/strong> said -. <em>But they\u2019ll tell you about flying in and not being certain that they could land safely or putting the broad side of their vehicle between a downed pilot and gunfire. When you hear those stories, you realize that we put heroes on these vehicles. We pick up heroes in these vehicles and they deserve every technology advantage we can give them.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The <strong>HH-60W <\/strong>specification drives more <strong>capable defensive systems<\/strong>, <strong>vulnerability<\/strong> <strong>reduction<\/strong>, <strong>hover performance<\/strong>, <strong>electrical<\/strong> <strong>capacity<\/strong>, <strong>avionics<\/strong>, <strong>cooling<\/strong>, <strong>weapons<\/strong>, <strong>cyber-security<\/strong>, environmental and net-centric requirements than currently held by the <strong>HH-60G<\/strong>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Sikorsky showcased the next generation Combat Rescue Helicopter &#8211;
